Since the 1970’s we have recommended charcoal capsules to treat primarily food poisoning and in some cases to neutralize upset stomachs. We also said you should not take charcoal for more than 3 days or so because it was thought that charcoal would also absorb beneficial nutrients. According to research in the last few years it turns out charcoal can be taken on a regular basis without any adverse effects. We have also learned that charcoal is potentially beneficial for other purposes but the big news is related to longevity. Mice research shows that charcoal extends life by as much as 95%! Most research shows at least a 20% increase in life, according to David Wolfe. Some longevity experts believe charcoal has more longevity potential than stem cells.
Other uses for charcoal are overdosing on medication, bee stings (mix with water and apply topically) and detoxification in general. Depending on body size the suggested dosage would be 2 capsules per day. For food poisoning we recommend 2-3 per day for 2 days or until feeling better.
Keep charcoal capsules on hand for medicinal use but be sure to include charcoal in your daily regimen to potentially extend years to your life.
