Indy Holiday Fun!

With children and relatives home for the holidays, it can be tough to find fun and entertaining activities that everyone will enjoy. Luckily all throughout the season, there will be plenty to do from viewing Christmas lights to festivals, theatre plays, musicals, celebrations, and much more. There are so many fun things to look forward to that children and adults of all ages can and will enjoy.

Christmas at the Zoo: Dating all the way back to the year 1967, the Indianapolis Zoo was the first in the nation to put up lights during the holiday season and it is a tradition that is still carried on to this day. This event will be happening from November 23rd to December 30th from 5-9PM.

Lights at the Brickyard: This colorful holiday lights display will be returning for another season and will feature over two miles and three million bright lights stretched across the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s infield. This event will be happening from November 16th to December 30th in the evening hours.

Festival of Trees: The Indiana Historical Society will be putting on its Festival of Trees event again this season. This will feature all sorts of exhibits that individuals of all ages are sure to enjoy, and something magical is happening here every day. Come be a part of this event that will be taking place from November 16th to January 5th.

Jingle Rails: This family holiday favorite will be making its grand return to the Eiteljorg Museum from November 17th to January 21st. Don’t miss out on this fantastic event, model trains will be winding through recreated landscapes and landmarks of the American West and beautiful downtown Indianapolis.

Jolly Days Winter Wonderland: Celebrate the holidays with your family at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. Jolly Days Winter Wonderland will be making its return again this season where families can enjoy fun activities like the two-story yule slide, Jingles the Jolly Bear, and visits with Santa. This magical event will be happening from November 23rd to January 6th.

Circle of Lights: For over 50 years people have gathered to see the amazing lights display occur every year in the heart of Indianapolis at Monument Circle. This is one of Indy’s most beloved holiday traditions and is truly a sight to see! You can see all of the lights from November 23rd to January 12th.

Celebration Crossing: Come see the Indiana State Museum takes on a new look for the season once again. Celebration Crossing comes alive for the holidays with the sounds of music and visits from Mr. and Mrs. Clause! Be a part of this family-oriented event from November 23rd through December 24th.

A Christmas Carol: This holiday classic is coming to the stage at the Indiana Repertory Theatre in Indianapolis. Be sure to catch this amazing event happening November 17th to December 26th.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Musical: The wonderful story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will be coming to the stage in Indianapolis at Clowes Hall this season. Come see all of your favorite characters from this beloved holiday story on December 9th.

Downtown Indy Inc.’s New Year’s Eve Celebration: Join us in welcoming in the new year on Georgia Street in downtown Indianapolis. We will be celebrating with lots of food, drinks and good times as we countdown into the new year. This event will occur from 10PM – 12AM on New Year’s Eve and there will be lots of fun times and memories made.
