The decision to choose chemotherapy is an individual decision. If this is the course you choose there are additional alternative measures that will help detox the body, support the immune system and help fight cancer cells. According to Dr. Sherry Rogers, she says omega-3 fatty acids have a significant bearing on whether or not you are able to heal a cancer. Did you know that EPA and DHA from fish oil turn on apoptosis? What is apoptosis? Think of it as a way the body makes cancer cells commit suicide. Omega-3 fatty acids also make cancer cells more susceptible to chemo. It is a win-win!
Dr. Rogers also states that beta carotene in the form of carrot juice turn the cancer P53 gene back to a gene that results in apoptosis. Max Gerson, the originator of the Gerson Therapy, incorporated drinking fresh carrot juice daily because he believed carrots contained anti-cancer properties. Recently, the author of children’s books, Ann Cameron, stated that she reversed her stage 4 colon cancer that had metastasized to her lungs simply by drinking carrot juice from 5lbs of carrots daily. If your oncologist says not to take any nutrients during chemo please know there are studies that show nutrients may make chemo work better, decrease the side effects and cut the chance of becoming resistant to chemo. Doesn’t it make sense that you need nutrients to repair in order to improve your healing? If your oncologist says that taking nutrients would interfere with the action of your chemotherapy, remind him that all he has to do is measure your antioxidant levels to prove it one way or the other whether your nutrients are helping or not. Chances are slim that your oncologist will do this.
To help detox use Vitamin C ascorbic acid powder or liposomal Vitamin C in liquid form in high doses. Also, add R-Lipoic Acid. Ask for dosing suggestions.
